Ok, after some days strugglin with multiple partition/ multiple os disks...
I sit down with three hour set only for that and came to it:

- fog script (fog.capone too?) fixed to write the right partitions using sfdisk
(added /sbin/sfdisk, not static but from CentOS...should it be static?).

Added a d1.tbl file with sfdisk -d $disk > ${path}/d1.tbl results and take it like sfdisk $disk < ${path}/d1.tbl and it work all right

- /etc/mtab not clean caused by /etc/fstab also not clean: no partitions to mount -a
(cleanup needed because image disk had a LABEL=/ partition that was mounted and never cloned)

- Trying to find a way to workaround "fogpartinfo --list-devices" to guess which disk, when the disk is completely blank (like new ones?) : no signature found error ...and fog bailing out.

Still thinking I should revise the modified scripts and post them so everybody could use them with right way, practitioners way, partimage documented way, for a multiple partition disk with a lot of logical partitions.

Also, focusing now on finding a way to clone individual partitions...should it take another image type? I guess so, but with hardcoded names like d1p1.img d1

Looks like self-diary.

Ok. Indeed it is like a self-diary, cause nobody discusses with me !

half-afternoon looking for the change I did not documented for myself ...natural sort in php, is in the file

/opt/fog/service/common/lib/MulticastTask.php ...it was an error only for Multicast ordering more than 9 nine parts (as we have)

I am using FOG 0.25 since March 2009, with relative success. We at the Lab have more than 200 PC Computers running Windows XP (2 instances), Minix, Ubuntu Linux and will run also Vista and Solaris 10

Our needs are for Multiple partioning with a lot of partitions, so I will be putting this kind of points on discussion to make FOG a better alternative for these scenario.

- First I want to discuss the use of sfdisk with FOG, to create Multiple Partitions cloning work for extended partitions, as is common practice, and as partimage documentation recommends.

Made some changes to the FOG script and it works, using an extra file d1.tbl to save the
dump sfdisk produces and using it afterwards

I started a discussion on 5 march, hope someone reads it.

- Sometimes you need an image for only one or some of the multiple part. scheme, so I have workaround this creating subdirs and manually populating it. If one file is not there, the script just informs and jumps to the next.

- There is also a glitch on the fog php code, when sorting the names of the images, for more than 9 images...the php function to use is the other one, the one that takes numbers on ascii into account.

- Another point i will like to discuss is the Windows service using the proxy settings.
Is there a way to tell it not to use the proxy ? Hope is not sinked in the sources....

FOG is great help.
