Installing tftp on Windows

  • If you have reached this page you have received the following error in a windows command prompt:
'tftp' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

To correct this problem you will need to install tftp services on your windows computer.

  1. Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Programs and Features --> Turn Windows features on or off
  2. Scroll down and look for TFTP Client and select it
  3. Click OK
  4. " Please wait while Windows makes changes..."
  5. Go back to a command prompt and type 'tftp'


  • Congratulations your have now installed tftp client services.
